Days of Service

Covering Soles offers virtual and in-person Days of Service to ensure that we are accessible to everyone.

Virtual Days of Service

Virtual Days of Service are offered 2-days per school year. During these days, students will have the opportunity to complete various projects with virtual non-profits. We recognise the risks of the online world so for that reason Virtual Days of Service are only recommended for older students in middle and high school. We take the utmost care to ensure that the organisations we work with protect the identity and safety of the kids we work with.

Some examples of virtual projects are:

  • Creating educational content

  • Writing encouraging letters to people with developmental or intellectual disabilities

  • Creating social media posts teaching girls how to navigate economic and social barriers

  • Narrate audiobooks for students who struggle to read

In-Person Days of Service

In-person Days of Service are offered 2-days per school year. During these days, we bring in local organisations for students to work with to complete community service projects. These projects can vary based upon the age range of students and their interests. Projects can be single day activities that require no previous preparation or they can be prepared for with the culmination of the project being on the day of service.

Some examples of in-person projects are:

  • Working or creating a community garden

  • Writing cards to support people in nursing home

  • Cleaning up parks or local areas

  • Planting trees

  • Fundraisers for causes students care about

  • Shoe or clothing drives
