Service In Action Summer Fellowship

The Covering Soles Service in Action fellowship is a virtual opportunity that offers high schoolers the opportunity to create their own community service projects with the support of mentors for the chance to win scholarships & funding for their projects.

The Summer 2026 Cohort application will be open in January 2026.

What is Service in Action?

The Covering Soles Summer Fellowship is a free virtual 10-week social impact incubator designed to empower middle and high school students to create, develop, and execute their own community service initiatives. During the summer, fellows will participate in weekly workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on project development, gaining the skills, connections, and resources to turn their ideas into real-world impact.

At the end of the fellowship, students will showcase their projects in a final pitch competition, where they will present their work for the opportunity to earn scholarships, funding, and public recognition.

Who Should Apply?

  • Middle and high school students who are passionate about community service, innovation, and leadership.

  • Those with a project idea—or those looking to find one and bring it to life!

  • Students looking to gain hands-on experience, build leadership skills, and make a real difference.

Why Service In Action?

The Covering Soles Summer Fellowship stands out as more than just a leadership program—it’s a launchpad for young changemakers. This fellowship equips students to create, lead, and execute their impact-driven projects from scratch.

By the end of the fellowship, students aren’t just more knowledgeable—they are empowered leaders with real-world experience. They walk away with a portfolio of impact, a network of connections, and a project that has already made a difference.

This program isn’t just about fostering young leaders—it’s about creating a new generation of social innovators who have the tools to change the world.

Action
Oriented

Service In Action is about execution. Fellows don’t just talk about change—they create it. From day one, students work on building their service initiatives with structured guidance, resources, and real-world implementation. By the end of the program, every fellow will have tangible results to showcase.

Every fellow is paired with a mentor who provides personalised guidance throughout the program. Students also learn from guest speakers and industry experts, gaining insights from people who have successfully built social impact initiatives and organisations. This direct access to experts helps students develop high-impact, scalable projects.
